BEFORE This half bath had natural light and limited built-ins.
AFTER Toilet remains in original location but new custom built cabinets and walk-in shower create a luxurious master bathroom retreat. Marble floor and counters complement the white/black/turquoise glass tile plan. Additional lighting along with a paneled ceiling treatment painted in high gloss aqua add to the light and bright atmosphere.
AFTER Custom make-up niche was a "must-have" on the wish list. Client's antique chair was customized with paint and new upholstery for the perfect perch. DSC Designworks was the general contractor on this project and built beautiful cabinets that optimized every inch and matched the period of the home.
AFTER Mirror panel added to the door helps reflect light from the new privacy window. Heated marble floor keep this attic space toasty. You can see the customization of the cabinets on the sloped wall/ceiling.
AFTER This table is a family antique and client wanted to keep it in the space. It was cut down, painted black and topped with marble for a custom surface. If you look closely at the BEFORE picture you will see this table.
AFTER This shower has it all! Marble bench, natural light, plenty of storage and a hand held shower. Outside the shower a heated towel rack keeps the towels ready for use.
AFTER Marble panels define the shower enclosure. The frameless glass door and partial wall detail allows the natural light to flow the length of the entire bathroom. The addition of a combination exhaust fan/light keep the shower area well lit even at night. (canbyafter6)
CANBY ATTIC REMODEL
This mid 1940s home had hidden potential on the second floor. This partial bath had two positives: natural light and generous floor space. The negatives included an original tile floor and limited headroom. A design plan that incorporated everything on the homeowner's wish list transformed this dated half bath to a luxurious full master bathroom.
