BEFORE Pretty kitchen, but makeshift collection of range and microwave on wall next to back stairwell was definitely not an optimum workspace.
Concept Drawing: Adding function, storage, and proper ventilation to this wall while respecting period details of the home.
AFTER Custom cabinets make every inch count. Solid surface counters on either side of new gas range provide safety and function. The skinny cabinet to the right of the oven is the perfect storage cabinet for trays and cookie sheets.
BEFORE This treasured family piece was taking up valuable real estate in the kitchen.
Concept Drawing: Let's keep the hutch in the kitchen but make it more useful.
AFTER An additional 42 inches of counter surface was gained by simply mounting the display shelves on the wall and adding a solid surface counter to the base.
Concept Drawing: Homeowners wanted to preserve the peg board above the range - and the wonderful visual display it provided.
AFTER Moving the art and copper collection to the adjacent stair well wall proved the perfect solution.
CUSTOM RANGE WALL
The original focus of this kitchen update was to simply add a dual fuel gas range. The design solutions and resulting remodel improved the safety, function, storage and air quality of the entire kitchen.
